DM/M.Ch Courses Admission-2012

Admission to D.M./M.Ch courses in the constituent unit, JN Medical College, Belgaum
The entrance examination for admission to the Post Doctoral Super Specialty Courses, D.M. (Neurology, Cardiology and Cardiac Anaesthesia) and M.Ch (Urology, Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Neuro Surgery) for the year 2012-13 will be held on 15th June, 2012, Friday, the in the premises of the KLE University

Eligibility Criteria

D.M/ M.Ch Courses
DM: Cardiology, Neurology
Qualification: MD in General Medicine or Paediatrics from a College recognised by Medical Council of India
DM: Cardiac Anaesthesia
Qualification: MD Anaesthesia
M.Ch: Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Neuro Surgery
Qualification: MS in General Surgery from a College recognized by Medical Council of India

Registration: Permanent registration with Medical Council of India/State Medical Council is Mandatory
Duration: 3 years

Admissions: Admissions are made on the basis of past academic and professional record and a selection test consisting of a written test, clinical examination, viva-voce and interview
Preference will be given to the candidates ready for service agreement after the completion of the course
Candidates must attach the photocopy of the post-internship and Post MD/MS professional experience (give details of designation, institution, nature of work, duration, publications in reputed professional journals, list of papers presented at national conferences along with the application form in order to avail this credit)

Entrance Test: The test will be held at KLE University premises, JNMC Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum, on 15th June, 2012 between 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

Shortlisted candidates must also attend the interview on 16th June, 2012 at 3.00 p.m.

Hall ticket (TAT Card): The TAT card will be dispatched only under certificate of posting so as to reach the candidates by 14th June, 2012
In case the TAT card is not received by the above date, a duplicate TAT card will be issued on the date of examination at 09.00 a.m. at the Help Desk at the test centre

Merit List: The list of candidates provisionally selected for admission will be displayed on the notice board/website after the interview
All the selected candidates are required to bring all their original documents and the fees at the time of interview/counselling in the form of two separate demand drafts as mentioned below

Tuition Fees: Demand draft of Rs 6,50,000/- payable at Belgaum drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Registrar KLE University,Belgaum

Eligibility Fees: Demand draft of Rs 2,000/- payable at Belgaum drawn on any Nationalized Bank in Favour of Registrar KLE University, Belgaum

Applicants are required to attach the attested photocopies of the following documents, Marks card of 10th standard, First to Final MBBS Marks Cards, Internship Completion Certificate, MD/MS Marks Card and Passing Certificate of the University, Permanent Registration Certificate of State Medical Council of India/MCI, Degree Certificate-either Provisional/Permanent, Demand draft of Rs 3000/- payable at Belgaum drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of Registrar KLE University, Belgaum, as processing fees

MCI Relaxes eligibility criteria for Teachers in Medical Colleges

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has relaxed the experience criteria required for teachers taking MBBS classes to be eligible to teach PG students. Earlier, a PG teacher needed to have a total of seven years of experience of which five years were supposed to be as Assistant Professor. The relaxed norms now mandate only a four-year experience as Assistant Professor which means a relaxation of one year. The move is to meet the shortage of PG teachers, said a senior official in the Union Health Ministry. A decision in this regard was taken recently at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the MCI which is an autonomous body under the Health Ministry to regulate the medical education standard in the country.
